If travelling within Canada, all passengers who appear to be 18 years of age or older must have government issued identification with a photo or two pieces of non-photo government issued identification including the person's name and at least one piece that would also include date of birth and gender. Passengers that are between the ages of 2-18 must have an original birth certificate or non-government issued identification (e.g. a student card). Either the original birth certificate or photocopy of the original birth certificate is required for passengers that are under two years of age. If you are travelling outside of Canada a valid passport is required. For further details or clarification please contact your airline.
Recommended Check-In Times
Check-in opens at a time that is based upon the terms and conditions specified by your airline. Please confirm recommended and required check in times with your airline directly.
If you are travelling within Canada it is recommended to arrive an hour and a half prior to your flight's departure time.
For international travel it is recommended that passengers arrive three hours prior to departure to allow for any delays at check-in, security screening as well as the clearance process with US Customs and Border Protection if you are travelling non-stop to the US.
Most of the major airlines with service at Edmonton International Airport offer Web Check-In (see the list below). Use online check-in from your home, office, or anywhere you access the Internet to check-in for your flight and print your boarding pass before you leave for the airport.
When you arrive at Edmonton International Airport, look for baggage drop areas for Web Check-In. Most airlines have dedicated baggage drop areas for Web Check-In that will allow you to bypass the regular check-in/baggage drop line and save time. Please check with your airline directly for recommended and required check in times.
